QyzPwr: The Year of Zere

Adamdar/CA has launched the new special project QyzPwr, dedicated to the girls and women whose work, stories and projects deserve attention.

The first short documentary within QyzPwr is about Zere Asylbek, an activist and musician from Bishkek. Last year, she debuted with the song and video Kyz that has become one of the most debated videos in history of Kyrgyz Republic and Central Asia.

In the film, Zere talks about her life, her journey into music, the problems that bother her, and why it is important to develop social activism in Central Asia. Adamdar/CA had visited the production set of Zere’s new music video, Suyunchu, and recorded the creative process.

QyzPwr is the stories of women and girls who had influenced and continue to influence the shifts in public conscience and cultural values in the countries of Central Asia.
