The Crash Site

On the morning of December 27, at 7:22, a BekAir airplane flying from Almaty to Astana lost altitude during takeoff and struck a concrete fence, after which it collided with a two-story building between the settlements of Guldala and Almerek in the Talgar district of the Almaty region.

As a result of the disaster, 12 people died, dozens of victims were injured and hospitalized.

The disaster area was surrounded by soldiers of the National Guard, the police, ambulances, and other emergency services.

Residents of Guldala and surrounding villages organized the field kitchen to provide the rescuers and other emergency service staff with food and hot tea.

Hundreds of citizens are heading to the city blood transfusion center to donate blood for crash victims (read more).
